Seeds

Yes, another post same day! My coworker emails me daily biblical "seed of the day". The two most recent are:

"Drreaming God's promises without doing = Foolishness
-"Dreaming instead of doing is foolishness" -Ecclesiastes 5:7 (LB)

"Complaining about our current situations = Remaining in them"
- "... How long will this wicked community grumble against me? I have heard the complaints of these grumbling Israelites. So tell them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say: In this desert your bodies will fall-every one of you twenty years old or more who was counted in the census and who has grumbled against me. Not one of you will enter the land I swore with uplifted hand to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua, son of Nun" -Numbers 14:26-30 (NIV)

And here's my "seed of the day". With Thanksgiving coming up, it's as simple as being THANKFUL. Instead of focusing on negativity, just list out in your head the many things you are thankful for. Just some food for thought. =)

Wanted: Sleep (and Edward Cullen)

It has been CRAZY busy but a ton of fun. Last Wed, Drea and I went to the Usher concert at Club Nokia. We brought love in the club with "french fries" and "1972!" After we went to this KBBQ place (of course!) my sis told me about that was 24 hours. (Oh whaa?!) Super yum! The next day wasn't so bad at work but I had the midnight showing of Twilight to look forward to! The night started off with dinner with my 'cousins', who i now call- "Throw Girls", at Hooters where our waitress had her pad hanging from her booty shorts. Not a pleasant sight. Before we knew it, we had our nachos, candy, and popcorn and were waiting for our date with the sexiest vampire ever, Edward Cullen! The movie was ok, alright, eh.. but him and his hotness..mmm. ;) But of course, the book was so much better! That next morning at work I must confess was a bit of a struggle. But couldn't have myself think about it too much because right after work I headed out to LA where I met Matthew for happy hour before our Lakers vs. Nuggets game. It was a good game, cuz I got tacos! Go Lakers! And we met up with Matt's cousins along with bumping into some friends, so it was cool. But the night didn't stop there, we went out to LB to have one last bash with Ray and Abby before they move to MD! It's weird that Abby won't be a drive away anymore, makes me sad everytime I think about it. Here's our last group pic together..sad!

But hopefully we all keep our promise to see each other at least once a year, maybe even more! I so wanted to sleep in Sat morn, but of course not! I took my little cousin to watch the first showing of Twilight and for me, it was better the second time around. Maybe because it wasn't 2am a few hours before having to go to work! After, we hung out and had a birthday lunch with Matt's aunt before going to out to celebrate Susie's bday at the Stinking Rose. We were oozing garlic! Happy Bithday Susie!

The next day we watched "25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" at the Performing Arts Center. The show was good, but not as WOW as Matt and I remembered it. Though the last time we had the actual Broadway cast, so no matter what no comparison! We were supposed to head out to The Grove LA to watch the tree lightening ceremony but at this point I was literally gonna fall over! So we opted to stay local and watch the Laker game at happy hour with Matt's cousins. Just as much fun! I wanted to sleep early that night, but the AMA's were on! If you liked it then you should've put a ring on it.. Beyonce rocks! I think I'm staring to catch up on sleep. I fell asleep last night at 9pm last night, but I'm still sleepy! Up next..NKOTB concert tomorrow, then THANKSGIVING!! Matt is with me and my fam this year. We're in charge of potatoes and some side dishes..we'll see how it goes!

KBBQ Overload

..but oh so yum!! Friday night was spent with friends over korean bbq. Nice to see their faces and catch up, always fun! The next morning I went to visit my Ninang and along with an Auntie and cousins ended up at the mall. THAT was fun =) It reminded me of the times when I was a kid and all my aunties, including my ninang, were all single and I was the only kid. Every Saturday morning they'd pick me up from my house to go out, and it was usually the mall. So it was nice being with them. Later that day the boyfriend and I met up with more fun friends for, you guessed it, kbbq! Total food coma after. I just wanted to sleep right after! But Matt and I watched "Spring Awakening" at the Ahmanson. Definitely not your typical musical but it is worth watching and probably one that I will not forget. It was a great show! Better yet, we've had luck in watching shows during the Broadway Cares campaign and we got a poster signed by the cast which they give with certain donations. Another to add to our collection, I just need to get frames now. Matt and I always try to get a magnet and a program for each show we watch, and lately they've been giving bags with the programs. I know..we're total nerds.

It was a wonderful evening, thanks a bunch hun! Then we headed out to a relatives house to help out with his grandma's 75th birthday party, but pretty much ended up playing with little cousin Q! We ate french fries and "cheers'd" (is that even a word) with water the night away! The next morning I headed out to San Diego for Raymond's and Abegail's Farewell brunch.
They're moving to MD. Sadness! But uber excited for them! I'll miss you guys! We had it at 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant and it was scrumptious! Saw alot of highschool classmates and it was weird to see us all, we look old!! LOL I made good time back to LA to meet up with Matthew since he stayed behind for his grandma's birthday brunch. I was so sad I missed it but was able to visit her that evening after dinner, and a-ha! this time it wasn't kbbq! It was a busy weekend but very fun! Lots of things to look forward to this week, especially...Twilight. Oh, Edward.
Oh! And must buy book for my class that starts this Monday! Thanks to a friend, I will actually start the class on time! =)

And it so it begins..again

Wow, I can't believe I haven't blogged since May! Crazy! Of course so much has happened- trips, birthdays, graduations, engagements (not mine!), and absolute fun times! School is still kicking me hard in the ass. At the moment I'm taking these upper division "leisure" classes but they are far from leisure! Work has been nothing but ROCKY with the economic state our country is in. Since my company got bought out, I will find out in the next few weeks what my employment status is. It's like deja vu! I got laid off last year right before the holidays, and then again in June. I got saved each time but who knows what will happen this time. But I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and will fall into place! We're coming close to the holidays and I have yet to check if my Gingerbread Latte is back at Starbucks. I wait allll year long I'm so excited. I briefly went to the mall on Veteran's Day and it's like they skipped Thanksgiving. All over the mall Christmas music was being played, decorations, Santa's picture area was even set up. I'm like HELLO we still have Thanksgiving!! But who am I to talk, I start playing Christmas music in August. I am DEFINITELY excited for the holidays but lots of things in between to look forward to! Weee!!

Ta-ta til later!
